Hi, I'm Tauri.
I work directly with customers every day. Questions, complaints, follow-ups, the message that needs an answer before lunch and the one that needs an answer that's careful. It's work I like, but it adds up.
A while ago I started using AI to take some of that weight off. Not to replace the conversations, but to help with the parts around them: the first draft, the polite version of what I actually want to say, the summary of a long email thread, the reply I've written a hundred times before.
What you'll find here
Real examples from my own working days. Each note starts with a situation I actually ran into, shows the exact prompt I used, and tells you what I changed in the answer before sending it. If something didn't work, I'll say so. Those are often the most useful notes.
I change names and details in every example, so no customer can ever be recognised.
Who it's for
Anyone whose day is full of people: you run a small shop or a one-person service, you work at a front desk, you handle support, or you're simply the person everyone forwards the tricky emails to.
How I use AI, and how I don't
- AI writes the first draft. I make the decisions.
- I never paste customers' personal or payment details into a chat.
- I don't let it promise anything I can't stand behind.
- If a situation needs a real human touch, it gets one, start to finish.
I use AI to help draft these notes too, which seems only fair. But the examples, the mistakes and the opinions are mine.
Tell me about your customers
If there's a situation you keep running into and want help with, write to me at hello@thepracticalprompt.com. I read everything, and the best questions become notes.
A note in your inbox on Tuesdays
Once a week I send one task, the prompt I use for it, and anything I got wrong along the way. It takes two minutes to read.
